I provide the same quality of care to your dog as in the individual walk although he/she will share me with one other dog.
We will walk in your locality, and I will arrange the time so that the other dog is in the same area as your's. This cuts down on travelling time - I don't believe it's fair to keep dogs in the unstimulating environment of a car for long periods of time. Your dog will get an hour of exercise and you will not be charged for any travelling time.
Unlike many similar services I never walk more than two dogs at any one time unless they are from the same household*.
I believe members of the public, especially children, may feel intimidated when suddenly confronted by a pack of dogs in a public place such as the park. By keeping the numbers down I am totally in control and the dogs get quality time spent on them along with companionship with another of their own kind.
We will walk in the parks and fields near your home and the dogs will be given the opportunity to sniff and explore either off lead (with your written consent) or on a long line (30ft). I take toys along with me on walks so the dogs will be able to play fetch games, which is important way of encouraging the natural behaviour of chasing and retrieving "prey".
Fetch is a fantastic energy burner and the stimulation of the dog's brain that occurs during this type of game gives him/her something to process later on in the day, aiding rest.
Some dogs who display separation anxiety when left alone may benefit from mentally stimulating energy burning exercise as it will encourage them to rest rather than being destructive.**
*if you own more than three dogs we can discuss the walking options at our initial meeting.
**please note this is not a cure all but one of many steps in treating separation anxiety.
I also offer Individual Walk with Training and Individual Walk services.
