I share my house with a Beagle called Chloe, seven cats (Lucy, Gingerfest, Toe-Jam, Earl, Ringo, Pilchard and Spud), five kids and my husband.
I was a competing member of the Kingstown Dog Training Centre with my late rescued German Shepherd bitch, Sadie, in both obedience and agility. We never won any medals but it was great fun and Sadie absolutely loved it. (She did win once – she was "the dog who could catch the most biscuits" in puppy class!)
Before I had my children I worked as a Veterinary Nurse for Gerry Cashin of Ivy Lodge Veterinary Clinic, Harold Wood, having done my practical training at Toddbrook Veterinary Centre, Harlow and Eastwoodbury Veterinary Centre, Southend -on- Sea, and the theory work at Bristol School of Veterinary Science.
Since taking maternity leave I have worked a part time job around the kids in the catalogue sales industry, visiting customers’ houses and delivering their goods. I am used to walking miles in all weathers because of this job and being self employed has given me the opportunity to learn how to provide excellent customer care and service. I love meeting new people and the catalogue job has introduced me to many new friends.
I have always been interested in pet behaviour and the management of training problems and desperately missed working with animals so I began a diploma course in Canine Psychology with the Animal Care College. I am studying to become a Dog Trainer and Canine Behaviour Therapist.
My Dog Walking and Pet Sitting business gives me the chance to do what I love most, which is spending my working life with lots of different animals and their owners.
